How do you want to be remembered? What do you want to pass on? What hopes and blessings do you wish to share with the next generations? A Legacy Letter is a heartfelt letter describing what truly matters most in your life. It is a way to share your values, beliefs, life lessons, and hopes for the future with present and future generations.
Attend this nurturing retreat to recognize that:
- you have a unique story that is worth sharing.
- no one else will tell your stories and they will be lost forever.
- you don’t have to be a writer, just be willing to write from the heart.
Here is a partial list of reasons for writing a Legacy Letter:
- You want to be remembered, and to leave something behind.
- You can identify what you value most and what you stand for.
- You recognize what you value now, so you can take steps to insure the continuation of those values in future generations.
- You learn a lot about yourself in this self-reflective process.
- You are undergoing some sort of transition, and want to gain clarity on your life.
- You can come to terms with your mortality by creating a sense of meaning and significance that will live on after you are gone.
Legacy Letters may be one of the most cherished and meaningful gifts you can give yourself, your family and your community. Individual writing activities and opportunities to share your stories with others will be included in this retreat. Come join us to receive specific, thought-provoking activities to craft your own Legacy Letter.

The only thing you take with you when you're gone is what you leave behind.
